This project was completed for North Sydney Council and was a collaboration between Garbett and landscape architects Turf Design and involved the temporary transformation of Kirribilli's Burton Street (between Broughton Street and Humphrey Place) from a busy, congested road into a peaceful mini-plaza, complete with new furniture, planters and lighting, and a striking colourful design scheme.

“The project was developed as a quick turnaround public space activation to address post-Covid lockdown issues and increase outdoor trading for cafés and restaurants, and to make a new community node for gathering and interaction. This short-term activation was designed to speed up the testing of road closures and to provide a new layer of energy and vibrancy to the village area.”  - Simeon King, Turf Design
